Jess Port is an artist currently living and making in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated with a BFA from The Ohio State University in 2022 with a focus in ceramics. She now owns Jess Port Art LLC. Her media include ceramic, glass, collage, and drawing/painting.

Her inspirations include Erin Morgenstern and Yasmine Chatila. From Morgenstern she pulls an appreciation for the questioning of narrative and time. Chatila inspires an appreciation for the constant, invisible, and seemingly mundane events that occur everywhere, always, and without thought. These inspirations can be seen in Jess’ past and present work, which focuses on freezing time, appreciating change, and attempting to understand both the permanent and temporary.

She hopes that her work creates a positive impact on the world, and encourages people to view ordinary, and sometimes off-putting, things in a new light.
